Bosque Del Apache 2007-2008 : About 20-50,000 snow geese and 8-10,000 sandhill cranes migrate every year to Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife refuge between the months of November to February . Since I moved to New Mexico about 2.5 years back, I have been there every year since the 2005 season to witness this wonderful spectacle, not just a awesome sight, but something to overwhelm all the senses. This is the start of the 2007 season..As of the thanksgiving weekend, some 2800 sandhill cranes and about 20,000 snow geese have already arrived. Some photographs here of the 2007-2008 season.
2nd trip on Jan 12-13, 2008 weekend - now there are about 50,000 snow geese, and 13,000+ sandhill cranes.

Bosque 2006-2007 : Bosque National wildlife refuge in New Mexico attracts some thousands of migratory sandhill cranes, snow geese, canada geese and others who travel thousands of miles from Alaska/Canada each year. at the time of my visit, there were 30,000 light geese and some 5000+ sandhill cranes here.. Bharatpur bird Sanctuary, India : Bharatpur bird sanctuary - about 3 hrs from Delhi - Sarus crane, herons - grey, trcolor, pond, night herons; Painted stork, Anahingas,common stork,Ibis, Kingfishers, Chital deer, Sambhar deers, Spoonbill etctetc..

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, India : a bird sanctuary near Mysore in India. Now was the season for nesting/breeding of the painted stork - enormous amount of activity with the painted stork flying around carrying twigs and food. Lots of nesting activity. Seen on a boat ride around little islands with trees full of painted stork, ibis, egrets, herons ..April 2006

Birds in the backyard : We are the proud owners of 2 bird feeders. Sparrows also like the sharp wooden stakes on our fence, and occasionally perch atop the roof, the cables and strings strung for their amusement.

Okhla Bird Sanctuary, India : Okhla bird sanctuary, near Delhi, India is a popular birding site right next to the capital. A major migratory site during the winters, I happened to be there in April 2006 to see some resident birds.
